Patagonia crossroads photo origin story
We candidly snapped this photo in 2016 shortly after we started our hike from Ecocamp to Cordillera Paine in the Torres del Paine National Park in Patagonia (Chile side). Paine means "blue" in the native Tehuelche (Aonikenk) language and is pronounced PIE-neh. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torres_del_Paine_National_Park Given the photo was taken on an iPhone 5 or 6, we were surprised there was enough resolution to blow it up so large. We love being reminded of one of our favorite trips of all time everyday in our home, and actually returned to Patagonia in 2026 to relive this trip with our daughters. We attempted to recreate this photo, but the sign is now gone! Thankfully we've preserved the menu in our home and now here on Collectos.

Me having fun mocking the Instagram influencers on our return trip in 2026 😂

Same general area in 2026 with no sign.
