Today we had the high temps of the day, during the day in the low 20s. This is going to be the biggest test of the winter season for the hives. So far it was looking/hearing good.
The only way to know if the bees are alive is to put your ear flat against the box and hope to hear the humming noise. So far so good on the few hives I have listened to.
It was a lot colder out there than it looked.
