This is by far one of the coolest gifts I have ever gotten. I got it from a really good friend who must have been in the money at the time because it's a very expensive axe.

I read that this axe, after it gets finished, the blacksmith that make it, takes it and hits it really hard on the tip against an anvil. This is the mark that you can see from that action. It is a type of a quality check. If it cracks or gets more than a small dent, it is considered not good enough.
I really love the shape of this axe. The metal guard is a very nice touch also.
